How the Christian Science Monitor rethought workflows with readers in mind

The US-based Christian Science Monitor was one of the first newspapers to embrace a digital first approach, and while it hasn’t been the most successful, its pioneering role continues.

That makes this article from the Solution Set report worth reading; an examination of how the Monitor “had to revamp its culture and its workflows to produce high-value coverage and emphasise the need to convert readers to subscribers.”

The article provides a look at the project, the lessons learned, a look at the future, and links to similar transformation projects.

The Solution Set is a new weekly report from the Lenfest Institute for Journalism and the Solutions Journalism Network.
