IFMS Featured on INMA Media Leaders Blog, Media Slap Conference

Dietmar Schantin, the founder and CEO of the Institute for Media Strategies, has been delving into the issue of “fake news”, from the perspective of media companies and what they’re doing to combat the scourge of propaganda and lies that proliferate on social media.

He recently spoke about this at the Drum’s Media Slap conference at Google headquarters in London, and wrote about it for INMA’s Media Leaders blog.

Fake news is nothing new but has been amplified in the social and digital media environment, Schantin says. News organizations have launched many new initiatives to debunk false stories as quickly as possible as they arise. “It all comes back to trust,” he says.
